Band Parenting, the most rewarding endeavor and the greatest challenge in contemporary American life, has received surprisingly little attention in books or the press. Articles advising band directors on the development of band parent programs have appeared in professional magazines. Yet until now there has been no reference work to help band parents with the dynamic and exciting world of band parenting, the most meaningful thing they will ever do.

Here we try to fill that gap while not making too much extra work for the author. He spends all his free time as a band booster. This draws on years of band parenting experience and countless interviews with veteran band parents, band members and band directors, none of whom knew they were being interviewed.
