Band Parent Chaperones

When to contest or game the big band buses roll,
They are filled near to bursting to achieve their goal,
Band members, horns, tote bags are most of this whole,
But, also, two band chaperones!
Your High School's Band Parent chaperones!
Wearing official Band Parent jerseys.

We help load the truck, and also unload quick,
We retrieve left horns, and forgotten drumsticks,
Hunt for what gets lost and help if someone's sick,
And we are just the band chaperones!
Your High School's Band Parent chaperones!
Thinking more about band socks than most do.

After half, tired-thirsty, the band files back in,
And then to refresh them we all do begin,
We will carry more water than did Gunga Din.
Oh, we're water-logged band chaperones!
Your High School's Band Parent chaperones!
Lugging jugs and cups and ice coolers.

And after a win we reboard with a crowd,
Of forty strong kids, with strong lungs, who are LOUD!
They're not tired now, they have won and they're proud,
And who wants to be band chaperones?
Your High School's Band Parent chaperones!
Slightly deaf from noise over exposure.

We've thought it all through and to us it is clear,
Sometimes its not fun, but we'll do it, no fear,
We may not be perfect, but, oh well, we're here,
And we are the band chaperones!
Your High School's Band Parent chaperones!
Wearing official Band Parent jerseys.
